How to finish 2017 strong

Motivation to finish the year strong

We are officially just shy of mid-November 2017 . . . the holiday spirit is creeping into your soul and Christmas break is just around the corner. . . not to mention there will be a bunch of cute holiday parties to attend and things are slowing down . . .

Time to just chill out and relax until January 2018 right?  . . .

Have you ever heard any of the following sayings?

Each of these is essentially pushing you to keep going! Imagine the concept of getting a head start in race. You might not be the fasted person running but a head start will definitely help you find your groove and create some advantages.

For the rest of 2017 there is going to be a large group of people who are going to relax and kick back. Now is the time my friend to push a little harder, longer and get creative; it will pay off in the first couple months of 2018!

Instead of waiting until January to make new goals, why don’t you take some time right now to assess how you performed on your goals from last year?

Is there anything that you can do to get yourself closer to where you want to be?

I am definitely not saying that you shouldn’t have any downtime during the holiday season, I know that I will. My point is really that we can’t expect instant returns in our hustle if we are simply kicking up our feet.

My challenge for you in the last weeks of 2017:

  1. Assess your goals from this yearHow far have you come? What can you focus on until the end of the year to feel successful? How can you use your progress to influence your goals for 2018?
  2. Strategize – Thinking about your goals for next year, what can you do now to set yourself up for success? For content creators try thinking about your editorial calendar. Once the plan is made it is a lot easier to deliver. For entrepreneurs, what information do you need to get your business to the next level, use your time now to brainstorm so that come January you can dive right in with no time wasted!
  3. Level up your skills– With colder, darker evenings and more downtime coming up during the holidays you can use this time to educate yourself. Perhaps it is reading a book or taking an online class. Use this time to develop some new skills that you can put into practice in the new year.

Keep hustling!
