Life is super crazy for everyone, including myself! I think one of my biggest struggles is that I have so much on my ‘plate’ so to speak, and then when I get home after work the last thing I want to do is cook a meal. The issue with this is that I also want to eat healthy!
Let’s hold up for a minute – with all this talk of being so super duper busy I think this is going to be my first in a series blog posts on ways to find efficiency in a crazy busy schedule!
First up, today’s post on food delivery! After that I will share hacks on quick workouts, continued learning and fast ways to get ready in the mornings!
Okay back to the yummy, yummy foods!
We can’t all afford a private chef right? But we all want mouthwatering meals ready when we are hungry (so high maintenance, myself included) >.<
I had the opportunity to try YUMBA one of Toronto’s newest food delivery services, and YES, healthy food delivery services! Guys . . . it was so good! The day I got to try it was PERFECT example. I worked all day, was running errands and had blog engagements after work. By the time I got home it was 9:00 pm! I don’t need to tell you but I was RAVENOUS. Normally I would end up eating brie on baguette or putting in a frozen pizza oven, but this was next level!
We had three different options: Chicken & Shrimp Pesto Pasta, Japanese Kabayaki Flank Steak and Piri Piri Chicken.
I had the pasta, Dustin the steak and our friend the chicken; one for each 🙂
We don’t have a microwave, although if you, do the heating would be super quick! I put a couple pans on the stove and added the sauces to the meat and starch. This part is genius I think. Yumba keeps the sauces separate when they deliver the meals in their adorable little insulated totes so that nothing gets mushy or soggy.
So anywhos, the meals heated quickly in the pan with the luscious sauces! We then proceeded to inhale the meals!
To do a little round up of the pros: healthy food, super convenient and extremely yummy! What’s left?
Have you ever used the on demand delivery services in the city, or perhaps just straight up gotten take out? Anyone who said “no” is either lying or is SUPER DILIGENT (and good for you!). Generally, those services are ranging from $10-$20 a meal? The other thing about take out is that it won’t support you in any weight loss goals >.<
Yumba ranges from $10.80-$12.50/meal of course depending on which delivery plan that you decide to get.
If this is something that tickles your fancy give it a try; all of their packages are no commitment! You can also pick the date and time of delivery in case you are only home at certain hours 🙂
Let me know your thoughts! I am currently dreaming of that pesto pasta and I think the next one I want to give a try is the Tahini Super bowl!
Happy yumba- ing!
